Solutions to Our Economic Problems

1. The federal government will enact a law that all U.S. citizens must bank their money in the U.S.

2. All U.S. citizens must pay a fair tax on their money that will not only support our government, but our infrastructures that are falling apart and being downsized.

3. All the jobs that the corporations have sent out of our country must return.

4. CEO's will receive twice as much salary as their highest paid manager. Their huge compensations will go to their workers.

5. Wall St. will be taxed on its transactions.

6. The Federal Reserve will be eradicated.

7. Citizens United will be revoked and Scalia and Thomas will be retired.

8. Lobbying will be illegal.

9. The two-party system will be disbanded.

10. Candidates for legislatures will declare their bank accounts before taking office. At the end of their terms, bank accounts that increased more than 10% of their salaries while in office will be returned to their states' general funds.

11. All major banks will be cut in half and full disclosures made to their customers each quarter.

12. The Pentagon will be downsized to eliminate all over-kill and waste, including over-paid generals.

13. No more bailing out foreign countries that we are exploiting.

14. No corporations shall hoard billions of dollars while they pay their workers a starving wage.

There's much, much more that could help our country not become another Roman Empire. I truly do believe that if anyone wants to be a citizen in our country, he or she, no matter how wealthy or poor, should support it in a responsible way and help make it into a great nation again. I do care and I'm sure you do too. We all need to become vocal on the changes that need to be made.

Hiatus

I apologize for the long time in between posts. What with the flu for a many days starting on Christmas Day, getting a new computer with Windows 8, traveling and being active in monitoring the Idaho legislature, etc., it seems difficult to get back here. But now I am back and have many subjects I want to write about. Hope to hear from you.

Six Jewish Companies Own 96% of the Media

Can this be true? Really, 6 Jewish companies own 96% of American media??? According to AlterNet, that is the truth. Nothing against Jews, but we are so in trouble when a handful of people control what we hear and see. I strongly suggest you read about this on the internet to be aware of who is choosing what news is reported on tv, magazines, newspapers, and radio, the books we read. and the movies we see. I care about this and the only thing I know to do about it is to watch independent news agencies such as Democracy Now, and read Mother Jones, and go to independent theaters. Any other suggestions?

See if you can believe this 1%er

When Randall Stephenson, the CEO of AT&T retires, he will receive  a quarter of a million dollars EACH Month for life. One of his impressive achievements that helped him earn that much compensation was to destroy 54,000 U.S. jobs since 2007!
On the other hand, Lowell McAdam, chief of Verizon, has destroyed only 30,000 U.S. jobs since 2007. This poor guy won't receive quite the pension Randall will.
These two megalith companies are worth researching if you want to know how crazy off balance our country is. You might even want to consider not using their services. I know you can't get all the services for your phone with other companies such as CREDO, but, really, do you want to support this kind of non-patriotism and greed?

Wow! The Speaker of the House Was Deposed!

Idaho's regressive speaker of the House

Idaho needs a new leader in the House of Representatives.

This is a plea for the House of Representatives to vote for Scott Bedke December 6 for House speaker, a legislator who is probably risking his political status if he doesn't win the election. The representatives caucus and vote Dec. 5 and 6 for a speaker.  Lawerence Denney has been the speaker for 6 years and has controlled much of Idaho politics.  If you read about our state, you will see that, under his control,  we have become one of the lowest ranking states in several important issues such as education and medical care.

He has refused and will reject the voters’ wishes. (There is concern among the voters that he will try to overturn the Prop 1, 2, 3 issues.) The Idaho newspapers have reported his high-handed, rude, power- hungry, strong-arm tactics and bullying of constituents and other legislators--several decent ones have resigned because of him. I know that is strong language and yet those are published words.

He has violated the law in his own self-interests (removing Hansen and Crowe), used house Victory Funds to unseat his fellow Republicans, sent lame-duck Phil Hart, the tax dodger, to ALEC using our tax dollars, and so many other questionable actions. He has been anything but decent and forthright (Times News).

Under his regressive control, our state has lost ground nationally, the education funding has been cut for the third consecutive year, $108 million has been slashed from the Medicaid budget. For a man who has no problem forcing his own issues, one would hope he would use his efforts to do good for Idahoans. Instead he has served his own interests politically, divided his party, worked behind closed doors, and will continue to do so, unless he has had a "Damascus Road" experience over the summer.

We voters need and deserve transparency! So, I'm pleading with the House of Representatives to stand up to Denney and vote for a Speaker that may give us a better chance of changing the politics in Idaho.

Warren Buffett's Message to Congress

Aren't we all sick of our legislators playing the party game instead of acting on what is best for our country? The tea partiers have terrified the Republicans into inane actions. The Democrats are pussyfooting around the issues. (How's that for generalizations?)
Warren Buffett seems to be one of the few sensible, influential minds in the news. Just maybe we can learn from him to become active and pressure our politicians to act sensibly and nobly to restore our country to the greatness we all expect. The following is his challenging proposal:
Subject: Pretty good idea from Mr Buffett

Warren Buffett, in a recent interview with CNBC, offers one of the best quotes about the debt ceiling:

"I could end the deficit in 5 minutes," he told CNBC. "Y
ou just
pass a law that says that anytime there is a deficit of more
than 3% of GDP, all sitting members of Congress are ineligible
for re-election.

The 26th amendment (granting the right to vote for 18 year-olds)
took only 3 months & 8 days to be ratified! Why? Simple!
The people demanded it. That was in 1971 - before computers, e-mail,
cell phones, etc.

Of the 27 amendments to the Constitution, seven (7) took one (1) year
or less to become the law of the land - all because of public pressure.

Warren Buffet is asking each addressee to forward this email to
a minimum of twenty people on their address list; in turn ask
each of those to do likewise.

In three days, most people in The United States of America will
have the message. This is one idea that really should be passed
around.

Congressional Reform Act of 2012

1. No Tenure / No Pension.

A Congressman/woman collects a salary while in office and receives no
pay when they're out of office.

2. Congress (past, present & future) participates in Social
Security.

All funds in the Congressional retirement fund move to the
Social Security system immediately. All future funds flow into
the Social Security system, and Congress participates with the
American people. It may not be used for any other purpose.

3. Congress can purchase their own retirement plan, just as all
Americans do.

4. Congress will no longer vote themselves a pay raise.
Congressional pay will rise by the lower of CPI or 3%.

5. Congress loses their current health care system and
participates in the same health care system as the American people.

6. Congress must equally abide by all laws they impose on the
American people.

7. All contracts with past and present Congressmen/women are void
effective 12/1/12. The American people did not make this
contract with Congressmen/women.

Congress made all these contracts for themselves. Serving in
Congress is an honor, not a career. The Founding Fathers
envisioned citizen legislators, so ours should serve their
term(s), then go home and back to work.

If each person contacts a minimum of twenty people then it will
only take three days for most people (in the U.S. ) to receive
the message. Don't you think it's time?

THIS IS HOW YOU FIX CONGRESS!
Yea! Let's all pass this around, especially to our congressmen/women and get some sanity back into our government!
